CLN Welcomes the Class of 2010

March 25, 2010

CLN Welcomes Class of 2010CLN alumni and Class of 2010 members gathered at the Fenton Grill on March 13th for a fun get-to-know-you event.
All members of the class as well as many veteran  members had a chance to chat and enjoy refreshments. CLN president Lisa Goodell officially welcomed the class. Lisa also gave each class member an opportunity to introduce themselves. Alumni members who had something in common with the class member then introduced themselves and  state their connection with the class member. This was a great way to integrate our new participants into our network.

The Class of 2010 is one of the largest in recent history. They represent a broad spectrum of vocations and interest. This will be a busy year for them. It will be nice for them to know of the large network of CLN members that are their to support them and help to make this orientation year an enriching experience.

Season of Sharing Success

The Chautauqua Leadership Network’s first annual “Season of Sharing” fundraiser was a huge success netting over $5000 for CLN. Thanks, CLNers, you came through in a mighty way!

Season of Sharing Winners

President Lisa Goodell with winners Lori Franzen, Salvation Army and Judy Moore, drawing winner.

We held the drawing on the air December 18th at WJTN, with radio host, Dennis Webster, drawing the winning ticket. The winner was Judy Moore, mother of Tina Cordner Downey, Class of 2009! In addition to her own $500 gift card for Wegman’s, she also had the opportunity to choose a community food pantry to receive a matching award. Judy chose to present the $500 gift card to The Salvation Army’s Food Pantry. When asked why she chose The Salvation Army she said “I always give to The Salvation Army. When I discovered they had a food pantry it was a natural choice.”

Ms. Moore was able to present the gift card to Lori Franzen, Food Pantry Coordinator for The Salvation Army, on January 13. Lisa Goodell, President of the Chautauqua Leadership Network, was also present to represent the CLN. Ms. Franzen was thrilled to accept the donation. She said “This will be a real help, especially with so many people in need in our community.”
